14 medium shrimp (ideally with shell on)

1 clove garlic, smashed
¾ cup flour
2 tablespoon corn starch
1 teaspoon agave syrup (or honey)
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon turmeric
1 head of lettuce (eg. red-leaf)
